Meta: Bethel screened at the Disabled People International World Assembly

I'm happy to report that my film Bethel successfully screened at the Disabled People's International World Assembly in Seoul, South Korea on Friday afternoon. The screening went very well and we had an extended Q&A period afterwards with myself and one of the Bethel members who had come for the opening.

The DPI-WA was held at the Kintex exposition hall. It's the quadrennial meeting of Disabled People's International, which is a powerful international NGO for disability issues. About 3500 people from 110 countries attended the conference itself.

My screening was of course much more modest. It was part of the disability film side event. All of the films were subtitled into Korean by the organizers. I was a bit disappointed by the size of the screen and the fact that they couldn't dim the light so the image was a bit washed out.

About fifty people showed up for the screening, mostly Koreans and Japanese.

The film has also been invited to screen at the South Korean Disability Film Festival in Cheju next month. More news to follow.
